Guidelines for ShoeTube

The 2008 contest is over. Check back to this site in 2009 for new contest details. Guidelines here will apply.

• You must be 13 years of age or older to enter. If you are age 13-17, you must obtain permission from your parent.

• Each video should be about 3 minutes in length.

• You may not use copyrighted music. You must have permission to use any music or sounds in your video. If you are not sure that you have the right to use the music, DO NOT use it. Purchasing a copy of music on a CD or via download does not give you the rights to use the music.

• Your video must be related to Operation Christmas Child and its ministry.

• Ensure that everyone in the video knows that they are being filmed for your ShoeTube submission and that it will be posted on the internet. 

• Do not include images, photos, logos (other than Operation Christmas Child and/or Samaritan’s Purse) or artwork that you do not have permission to use (such as pictures from magazines, books, or other web sites).

• Video files must be uploaded to YouTube.com following the instructions on this web site (see "Submit a Video")

• Video content must not contradict our statement of faith.

• Videos may not be considered degrading or critical of any single person, race, country, organization or belief.

• Samaritan's Purse staff and family members are ineligible to participate in the ShoeTube contest.   

• Samaritan’s Purse will review all entries submitted prior to posting them to the ShoeTube Web site. Your video may not be visible on the site immediately after the submission form is completed. Samaritan’s Purse reserves the right to post only video content deemed appropriate.

• Viewers are encouraged to vote using the rating system below the video player. Voting is not to be construed as an endorsement by Samaritan's Purse or Operation Christmas Child but merely to determine contest winners.
